Hello, I’m Danika. I grew up in San Diego, CA and have spent much of my time in the ocean. It wasn’t until I went to college in Point Loma that I learned what sea glass even was. I became addicted to roaming the local beaches looking for the beautiful frosted glass. I fell in love with the colors, the way the glass felt, and how long it took to create it. 

 

I started this company in 2017 and I am still grateful to be collecting and making sea glass items from San Diego and all over the world. Sea glass has begun to mean so much more to me than just selling something pretty from the ocean. It is always reminding me that broken things can be turned into something new. It may take some time (in this case tens of years) but it is the rough times of getting beaten down and reshaped, that turn it into something strong and valuable. I wish I could know exactly where each piece originated from and hear the journey it has been through in the ocean. 

 

The other best part of this is the support and community of people that it has brought together. Whether that's meeting people at farmers markets, being a part of weddings, educating people about sea glass, or people who have been inspired to start their own collection, it all means so much and I am forever grateful.
